Growing into yourself · Ages 14–17
Being a teenager can mean trying to figure out who you are while the world seems to have a thousand opinions about who you’re supposed to be. Therapy can be a place to sort through the emotions, relationships, expectations, and questions that come with growing into yourself.
Explore Sessions & FeesYour feelings. Your questions. Your space.
When I work with a teen, the teen is my client. We’ll develop goals together, with room for both emotional well-being and figuring out who you are, what matters to you, and who you want to become. That can include exploring sexuality and gender, finding where you belong, expressing yourself, and making choices that line up with your own values, in LGBTQIA+ affirming care.
A parent or caregiver can send an inquiry. An optional, free 15-minute video consultation may include the teen and parent together when appropriate.
The first paid appointment is a 90-minute biopsychosocial intake. A parent or authorized caregiver generally joins briefly at the beginning for confidentiality, paperwork, and questions. The main assessment is with the teen, as clinically appropriate. The caregiver may return at the end to discuss appropriate next steps.
Treatment goals are developed collaboratively with the teen. Ongoing caregiver involvement depends on clinical needs, consent, confidentiality, and applicable law.
Your teen’s individual session is their therapeutic space. Being a parent or paying for treatment does not automatically mean unrestricted access to session content. I’ll explain confidentiality, safety exceptions, and legally required disclosures. Relevant legal decision-making authority and custody documentation may need review before treatment begins, including for separated or divorced parents.
Dedicated parent & caregiver consultations
Your teen deserves their own time in therapy, and you deserve opportunities to ask questions and understand how to support them. That’s why I offer separate parent and caregiver consultations.
These appointments give us space to discuss treatment-related concerns, parenting support, appropriate progress updates, and ways we can collaborate to support your teen’s goals. They are not individual therapy for the parent, and they do not replace your teen’s sessions.
They are scheduled and billed separately, never deducted from the teen’s individual therapy time. Routine administrative questions and brief care updates are not separately billed. Substantive treatment-planning discussions and dedicated caregiver support are scheduled as paid consultations. Safety-related communication follows clinical necessity; confidentiality and legal consent limits still apply.
